Help with sentence translation; English to Italian?

Can someone check over these sentences I translated to make sure it's correct? I put my translation in the parenthesis. Thanks so much.

1. In chapter 10, the story begins with Torrismondo trying to find his father. (Nel capitolo dieci, la storia inizia con Torrismondo cercando per il suo padre.)

2. When he finds the group that his father's in, the man says that when people are in this group, they don't acknowledge relationships. He then said that he should become parts of the group and gave him things to do. (Quando trova il gruppo del suo padre, il suo padre dice che suo gruppo non riconosce i rapporti. Dopi, lui suggerisce a iscriversi il gruppo)

3. The old man gave him things to do, but Torrismondo made no progress. (Il suo padre li da' le cose per fare, ma Torrismondo non fa progresso.)

4. One day, Torrismondo realized that the group really does bad things to the town, so he protected the citizens. (Un giorno, Torrismondo realizza che il gruppo fa le cose male alla citta', e lui protegge i abitanti.)

5. When the town thanks him, Torrismondo realizes that he doesn't know who he is, and runs away. (Dopo, Torrismondo realizza che non sa che e', e va via.)

It hasn't been a piece of cake, some of the sentences in Italian had nothing to to with the English version.

Please note: since you're using both simple present and simple past in English, I had to choose one, so all Italian sentences have been made with simple present.
